Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Red Lion
The Red Lion looked like quite a well-heeled village pub when we walked in. There is a cosy, carpeted bar area, which had some very noisy customers shouting away. A large brick fireplace contained a fake brick fire, whilst there was a lounge and a separate room for dining called the Garden Room. An outdoor area had a pizza oven and a large covered shed-type structure.
There are a couple of cask ales from the north of England - Timothy Taylor Landlord & Vocation Bread & Butter. The pub features in the current Good Beer Guide. Meantime Anytime IPA was for sale on keg. The pub is dog friendly. Food is served in the bar. Ciabattas with a selection of fillings were £12.50.
A strange pub this. It seemed like a cosy country pub, but it turned out to be much more boisterous than I had expected.
