The Travellers Rest was a decent sized road house type pub that was situated on the main road out of Newark towards Nottingham.
Once inside the pub had a couple of decent sized rooms with a decent bar room and a more comfortable lounge.
The pub was a John Smiths tied house when i did it and there was a decent drink of John Smiths handpumped bitter on the bar.
A great shame that this pub has now been pulled down as it was a handy stop off while walking to Farndon.
