The New Inn is a single roomed pub with laminate flooring up the left where the serving counter runs up the left-hand wall towards the rear where there’s a pool table and a dart area, although the dartboard was missing. To the right of the entrance is a square carpeted area with banquettes along the front, right and rear walls where they face each other over a couple of central tables. Muted ITV News was being aired on the televisions, and the background music came courtesy of Smooth Radio during a recent early Monday evening visit when the pub was busy for the time of week. The service was polite and one of the many locals took the time to engage me in friendly conversation, which was nice. Unfortunately, the draught offerings of standard keg and Cruzcampo aren’t going to draw anyone other than locals in, which is fair enough because this would be on my pub route if I lived in this area.
