The Cuckoo Birch is an estate pub that serves a small estate to the south east of Mansfield, there is now a large tesco to the rear of the pub.
Once inside this pub is better than most estate pubs i have been in,there is a very smart lounge to the front which was carpeted and had bench seating and normal tables and chairs, there were a few younger people in this room having meals,i had a drink in the bar to the rear, this room is the same oblong shape as the lounge, there was a pool table and bar football table to the left,a TV was also showing tennis from Wimbledon, this room was very busy with drinkers.
There was one real ale on the bar, this was Marstons Pedigree New World a beer i have not seen before, but it tasted decent enough.
I was quite happy drinking in this pub,i also agree with the previous persons comments.

Some of the best food in Mansfield can be found in this unlikley pub. From the outside the pub is nothing to shout about, but go inside and the place is well decorated and has exellent food. Try the Sunday lunch, You won`t find a better value for money meal in Mansfield.
A gem of a pub in an unlikley place.
