As the name suggests it’s a short walk from the railway station, white with black highlights it looks traditional but it’s not to be. Inside there are two modern rooms the main bar to the left, pool table and seating on the right, to the side of the right hand room is another with a pool table. Smaller inside than it looks from outside. The small bar on the left has a counter to the right, curved and with looks like Aertex © applied, a selection of standard UK kegs are available on two T-bars and assorted solos. I won’t be writing to my family about this choice. The top of the counter has a weird old wood and tile top with brass flintlock pistols attached.
I did feel a little out of place being the only punter not wearing a football shirt apart from the solitary girlfriend of one of the blokes, poor girl. It had a big screen on terrestrial TV but no piped music. Oddly a place not listed by Camra on their website.
