Popular village local that makes regular appearances in the Good Beer Guide and for good reason. The pub has a carpeted bar to the front with coal fires at either end. There is a TV (switched off during our visit) in one corner. A jukebox was in use instead. Board games are available, as well as Shut The Box and pegging boards for cards/dominoes, whilst I also noticed a dartboard above one table. A wifi code is also provided. Dogs are welcome.
The dining room can be found to the rear. Although that was closed late on a Sunday afternoon.
At the bar, there were 5 cask ales, 4 of them from Alnwick - Pale Ale, IPA, American IPA & Belgian Blonde, with the 5th handpull clipped with Firebrick Pagan Queen. SALT Jute was the pick of the keg options. Ciders were Sharp's Cold River & Carling Black Fruits.
The barman was friendly here, but there did seem to be a few local characters/nutters in. Outdoor drinking is also possible. There are a few picnic tables on what seemed to be a village green opposite and apparently there is an patio to the rear. Whilst there is no car park, parking outside is fairly easy.
A nice village local with a good number of local ales (my Belgian Blonde was certainly enjoyable), that is worth seeking out.

A good drinkers' pub with a couple of rooms and a terrace round the back somewhere. A nice bank of 5 handpumps offered 4 from Alnwick and a guest from Firebrick.

Splendid locals pub off the main road through the village, it does have a brown sign. GBG 2024 listed. A single bar at the front with a smaller discreet dining room behind. Five pulls and two low T-bars as drinking choice, the casks are all fairly local and in good order. Nice and traditional inside with banquette seating round the walls, round and rectangular wooden tables and stools, tongue and groove with white wallpaper above. Decorated with a variety of photographs and paintings, there’s a big screen at one end and WhatPub directs us to the rare brewery mirror at the other end.

This is a gem and a difficult one to leave. We sat at the bar in the front room, chatting away to the owner and a couple of locals. The main subject was all about beer, so I was in my element. There were six handpumps all in operation, the owner was very passionate about his Tempest Brewery beers from Kelso. I went for the Tempest Armadillo at 3.8% which had bags of flavour, I then tried the Tempest White Cloud at 5.6% which was amazing. There was also a Alnwick Ipa, which didn't quite have that IPA taste, but still it was in peak condition.
They also serve food here and we noticed a good few people booking tables in advance. The owner has been here for nine years.

Caught 501 bus from Seahouses to visit this 2010 Good Beer Guide pub in Embleton. Friendly staff and 3 great beers on. Enjoyed Hadrian & Border Farne Islands, Jarrow JB, and Black Sheep Riggwelter. They know their beers here, and will chat about them with you. Patio garden is downstairs at the back. Another room set for dining.
