Friendly unspoilt grade two listed village local which has avoided going down the gastro route. Very traditional bar with a more restauranty bit down the right-hand side. A corner to the left serves as the village shop. Packed full of knick-knacks, banknotes stuck everywhere, a place which has evolved over decades rather than ruined in weeks. Outdoor seating in a courtyard with kiddies play area beyond, the effect spoiled by piles of cardboard and general tat left outside. So-so Oakham JHB prettily served.
Worth a look if you're in the area.
