This is a lovely old building in local stone, with a large stone fireplace in the main room to the left of the bar. Most walls are exposed stone, but a recent refurbishment has resulted in a modern bar, and the floor and doors are also modern, the glass door at the entrance being particularly anachronistic. We stopped here for an early half, when the staff were still setting up and somewhat distracted. There are three beers on the bar - I had Grainstore Osprey, a local brewery whose beers are always well balanced and quaffable. the others were Old Speckled Hen and one whose name is no longer recollectible from the scrawled notes I made at the time. If I had been dining, or lived in the village, perhaps my experience would have been a little better, and I wouldn't rule out calling in again when in this lovely area.

The White Swan is a stone built pub that is in a quiet village and it is close to the impressive Harringworth viaduct.
Once inside there was one room that i noticed this ran across the front of the pub and the bar was on the left side of the room, there were lots of normal tables and chairs and this was fairly comfortable.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Church End What the Foxes Hat and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Langton Caudle and Adnams bitter.
This was a quick visit as the pub was closing at about 2.30 in the afternoon, but i did quite like this pub.

Great food. Good value for money. Decent beer. Accommodation as well - what more could you ask?
