Old Boots left this review about The New Locomotive
A very odd pub to find in a market town, the style and atmosphere is more typical of an area of urban deprivation or a run-down 1970s pub in a beer desert. The pub is on two levels, a bar at street level and a room up a short flight of steps containing a pool table and the toilets, the gents is a disabled version and the lock is missing. The lower room has the bar counter with the less than inspiring choice of Fosters, Stella or John Smiths smooth, there is a Guinness fount but it's not connected, oh and the Stella tap creaks. I had half of Stella but that lost its head even before I lost the will to live. There are no optics just a few random bottles on shelves and in a fridge. Seating is at tables and chairs and bizarrely there's a piano in the corner, decoration is from a few pictures of Silverstone, there is also a small collection of trophies. I may be missing something here but it's friendly enough and the locals seem to like it.
