Keith Blackman left this review about The Downe Arms Inn
Set in the breath-taking and beautiful location of the Upper Esk Valley in the North Yorkshire Moors the Downe Arms at Castleton, dates back to the early 18th century. The Downe Arms was once three cottages, which were later converted into a coaching inn on the York-to-Stockton route.
The licences have been awarded Cask-Marque accreditation for their real ales. They also sell a wide range of lagers and Lee may even show you his nationally recognised cocktail flaring.
This is a proper family run village pub and offer a cosy haven of true Yorkshire hospitality with good home cooked food. The steak night on Tuesdays is great value at £20 for two steaks and a bottle of house wine, great B&b.
