A Sams pub with four distinct areas, it can be accessed from Baxtergate or New Quay Road. From Baxtergate it’s a bland bar with the counter at the far end, the middle section has the other side of the servery, both having Old Brewery Bitter on hand pump plus the usual collection of small boxes. The room nearest the quayside and railway station is a plain sitting room with banquette seating at wooden tables, the white walls are decorated with old cartoons. An adjacent room houses a pool table. Below average Old Brewery Bitter.

An old style Sams pub, sparsely populated by old boys on a Tuesday lunchtime. It has a good looking frontage, but is rather indifferent inside. There are 3 rooms, but all feel the same. There's a beer yard at the rear which had just the one smoker in it. I had a half of OBB which was just about OK. No idea how this one has hung around for so long really.

Found on arrival in Whitby before we had fully gained our bearings. A pub garden at front, with some spaces on a Friday. Can't be bad. Its a Sam Smiths - so at least sitting outside, no one could tell us off for using our phones to check in an Original Bitter. Staff very friendly.
Kept erratic hours - passed by on the Saturday at 9:30pm and it was closed. 5pm on the Sunday evening and it was closed.
No idea if this is normal or just because of Covid half life.

Old fashioned Sam Smiths pub selling the full range of their beers. I went for the bitter and that was fine.

Sam Smiths pub near river & the swing bridge. Rather old fashioned inside & standard 70s pub interior but has a good real fire. Its ok, nothing wrong (apart from no real ale) but just missing any kind of feature.

Sam Smiths pub had a good house every time we call many locals in nice enough people worth a visit
