Disappointing to find, after reading the blurb outside advertising new management and "cask & craft ales", that the two available hand pumps on the bar were featuring Pedigree and Doom Bar. As stated below, nothing above 4.5%. More pertinently, nothing of any interest on the beer front, move along now. So I did.

Bar in front as you enter. Seating to left and left rear with a pool table to the right. Three real ales, nothing above 4.5% ABV.

A short walk from the market square. 2 real ales on during my visit. The pub has a pool table and was advertising live music. Sporting photos on the walls.

Crisp modern decor in a pub with multiple drinking areas, maybe the best pub in a town that has some pretty awful specimens. Landlord is particularly keen on promoting real ale and advertises tasters. In addition to three pulls serving well kept beers there is a fairly standard range of kegs, with three lagers, two ciders and a smooth plus Guinness. TV at both ends of the room, pool table, biggish garden and food complete a well rounded package. Friendly natives and on the ball staff, just a shade far from the centre of town but well worth the walk.

Just really one thing to say here, It's Thirsk's only and really comfortable and clean and friendly Pub you will find. If you manage to get there don't go anywhere else in Thirsk you will end up wasting ur hard earned cash, Great Beer and Ale's, I should now I've drank in them all and have the mental scares to prove it, Thirsk's number one Ale house. Dick Turpin would have loved this place, aka Cazy
