A large, posh, brick built hotel in the Market Place opposite the Green Howards museum. It has a lounge bar open to the public and going under the name of the Zetland Bar. Neo-Georgian décor with Victorian touches in a subdued hotel style. A 4 way keg tap dispensing two lagers, a smooth and a cider along side the inevitable Guinness tap and a solitary unused handpump provide the beers in here. Probably not one for pub lovers or discerning beer drinkers to trouble themselves with.

Very genteel inside . More like a posh tea-room with a bar .
Very nice high-backed arm-chairs to sit in , but not really one for a boys' day out .
Beer - John Smith's Smooth and Kronenbourg lager .
