A fair-sized village pub with a couple of traditionally-furnished areas forming the main bar and a rather chintzy restaurant room to the side. There are also a barrage of tables out the front and a beer garden with all manner of constructions behind. Ales now Black Sheep Best and TT Boltmaker, the latter in excellent condition. The food is a cut above average without going gastro and very nice. All in all a good solid pub but one word of warning: for some unknown reason they offer a "brewery conditioned" Wainwright Gold on handpump, but it is easily avoided.

Smart village pub, with a formal restaurant to one side and a largish bar to the other separated by a central fireplace . The bar serves well kept Black Sheep Bitter and Golden Sheep plus York Guzzler and Taylors Best, I believe as guests. It is decorated in traditional village pub style with plain walls at one end and wood panelling at the other, tasteful country sports type pictures and brassware complete the look; it appears to be two rooms which have been knocked into one. There are quarry tiles and genuine looking ancient beams, the bay windows are a nice place to sit, enjoy a pint and soak up the friendly atmosphere. The staff are unobtrusive and professional but friendly. The gents has a collection of 1960s seaside postcards and there is a rather splendid smoking shelter in the car park.
