Old Boots left this review about The Royal Oak
Village pub in an edwardian building with gables, decorative woodwork and nouveau stained glass. Internally there are three areas, a pool table and darts trophies, although no board at one end then a central bar and at the other end a formal dining area. The whole pub shows signs of recent redecoration, the bar has a flagstone floor and is furnished with tables and leather armchairs and bench seating, décor is wide and brown tongue and groove with standard white walls and old photos of the village. The dining area is carpeted and has a mix of four and two seat tables with 22 covers. Two handpumps which usually serve John Smiths Cask and a Daleside beer, although on this occasion they had both run out. Standard kegs from John Smiths, Strongbow, Becks, Carling and Stella, oddly there is no draught Guinness. There is limited car parking at the front and a beer garden at the back.
