Old Boots left this review about Black Bull
situated between the balls of Menwith Hill radio station and Knabs Ridge wind farm on the A59 this roadhouse is a handy stop for food and drink all day. Inside are a number of spaces flowing from the entrance lobby to the rear, a dining room is located to the left. The counter with six hand-pumps is straight ahead in a lobby bar decorated with a profusion of brassware, beers are from Black Sheep, Theakstons and Copper Dragon and are well kept. The usual national keg brands are also available. To the right the pub opens out into another dining area with traditional pub furniture, including bench seating, although all the tables are laid with cutlery. Decoration consists of more brassware and aerial pictures of the pub. Beyond is a drinking area with darts board and local notices including an invitation to name a chicken. The pub will shut early (9pm) in the evening if there is nobody requiring a drink after food service ends.
