Thuck Phat left this review about The Chequers Inn
The Chequers has only relatively recently been converted to a pub having been set up some years ago as an overflow for the nearby Lifeboat. I believe it is now owned by the Chestnut group, which also owns the Lifeboat amongst others along this coast.
The ceilings are low and it's clear that the building has been converted to it's new purpose with modern tiling and carpeted floors.
It's a big place but you enter a small, cosy bar to the right complete with a log burner, beyond which is a large, well appointed dining room with another one at the back of the building. There's a pool room to the left.
The welcome was cheerful and friendly which goes some way to recommend the place.
Beers on were Barsham Pilgrims Pale Ale, which went down ok, and the ubiquitous Woodforde Wherry. The usual keg suspects did include the local and excellent Duration Turtles All the Way Down.
It's a pleasant enough spot to drop in for a quick one but the ale range is limited.
