Old Boots left this review about The Barley Mow
A Wells badged pub and Nepalese restaurant in an older stone built pub. A T shape perhaps due to extensions, the L shaped counter is in front as you enter, an Heinekin Mekon and three pulls but just a rank St Austell Tribute on. Round on the other face are a trio and quad low T-bar of the ordinary and less ordinary. The long arm of the T is the dining area and to the right a seating area. The left end has a pool table and screen, piped music is pervasive.

A surprisingly large Charlie Wells pub, with a vast car park and large garden too. The interior is all knocked through into one room, with a small bar area at the front with pool, darts and a couple of large screens, and a big tabled dining area behind, specialising in Nepalese cuisine. It's all a bit bright, featureless and modern really. The three cask ales were Wells Brewpoint Double Star, TT Landlord and Tribute, the first two of which were not in the best of condition. Possibly OK for a curry but I can't say I would return for drinks.

On my approach I was happy to see the TNT Sports advertisement outside the front of the Barley Mow because I was looking to watch some Champions League football during a recent Wednesday evening visit, but alas as I entered, I found myself amidst a very well attended bingo night. I didn’t get to have much of a nose around because I thought they’d think it a bit odd, but I did note that the L-shaped serving counter to the left faces bar seating and a dartboard across the front left and open plan seating to the right. There’s also lots of seating in the rear that I took to be a dining area. Fosters was available alongside premium keg, and the TT Landlord was off leaving Tribute and Adnam’s Southwold as the cask options. Due to the bingo, I didn’t see this pub in the best light so I would give it another go if passing.

Mainly aimed at diners with a bar to the left as you walk in. Three weak real ales and standard kegs. Some outside seating.
