Village pub with a bar split down the middle, boarded one side with carpet on the other. Old black and white pictures of the pub can be found on the walls. Tankards hang from the ceiling. There was also a CAMRA certificate awarded to the pub for being the 2023 Rural Pub of the Year in the Ely & District Branch. There is a smaller room with an old bicycle, fireplace, dartboard and bookshelf to the rear. Outdoor seating consisted of a pub garden to the rear and tables at the front. There is a car park to the right-hand side of the pub.
No dogs are allowed in the bar. There was also no TV that I could see. Wifi was courtesy of BT, whilst pop music was being played in the background. Signs advertised a meat raffle and shut the box on Sundays.
4 handpulls could be found on the bar, dispensing Wadworth 6X, Lacon's Norfolk Gem & Eagle Bombardier. The fourth handpull was unclipped, with Aspall's being the keg cider. Pumpclips above the bar suggested that the range could get slightly more adventurous at times.
With just a handful of locals stood/sat at the bar chatting to the landlady and a couple of other customers out at the front, it was fairly quiet on my Saturday afternoon visit. Note that the pub does not open until at least 3:30 (with the exception of midday opening on a Sunday).
No longer owned by Greene King, this is a fairly standard community pub.

A very pleasant village local. Owned by Green King, but don't let that put you off - the Abbot was in excellent form and it's one of a few places I've actually enjoyed a pint of IPA. Sky sports is available in one bar, to the left as you walk in, with more of a relaxed bar on the right, which seemed more popular with locals. Food is freshly homemade (I had the pie), and landlord friendly and happy to chat. Large car park, and garden, which given the snowy weather I didn't look at much. Certainly recommended if your in the area. Sloping roof unusual as well!
