This is a striking building when approaching from the direction of the church, but it doesn't really live up to that promise. Five hand pumps on different sections of the bar counter, three in front including Oakham JHB and London Pride, the other three being from Green Jack. I went for the Trawler Boys, a 4.6% best bitter (NBSS 3.5, £5/pint). This pub suffers by comparison with the nearby Red Lion, not helped by a clash between the floral upholstery and the differently floral wallpaper. The background music was fairly annoying, and I was pleased to hear Diana Ross singing Upside Down, by no means my favourite from her repertoire.
