This is a smart town centre pub with a split level, two bar layout. The front, upper bar has a bit of a corporate feel to it, with modern bare floorboards, plain painted walls plus a feature wall to the left covered in fancy wallpaper, Euro 2024 bunting and lots of promotional blackboards and dumb slogan signs. The small servery stands to the rear and has a curved counter with unattractive frontage and not much of a bar back. Leaded windows to the front and a few old timbers here and there add a little character and help aleiviate the identikit feel of the room. Steps next to the servery lead down to a lower rear bar, which has a quarry stone floor with high stools and backless benches providing the main seating options. The bar here has a nice counter, with tongue and groove panels and a flower-strewn bar back. A large screen on the back wall was showing an England game, with other screens available in the front bar and the beer garden to the rear right, which has a covered courtyard space and plenty of seating.
There were four ales on the bar - Taylors Landlord, Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale and a house beer called Three Tuns, which is presumably another Greene King beer rebadged. The Landlord was in decent condition and the staff seemed friendly enough, coping well with the large crowd attracted by England's quarter final fixture.
I liked the two bar layout of this pub and thought the lower, rear bar was quite a nice spot that I couldn't fully appreciate due to the packed house. The beer range won't exactly set the pulse racing, but it struck me as a solid town centre option and may well be worth a look in passing.

The inclusion of this pub in the 2024 GBG drew this visit,although I was trepidatious faced up with the Greene King signage.Clearly an old building,the interior is on two levels,small at street level with the bar here having redundant handpumps ,larger down some steps with the main servery and more traditional seating but nothing much else reflecting the buildings age.However the ale selection was GK IPA ,Abbott ,a house beer at 3.9% and no doubt some more GK rubbish leaving a solitary guest of TT Landlord which is quite ubiquitous.
The local CAMRA branch should admit that there are not enough (any ?) pubs in Uxbridge worthy of a GBG entry rather than their buggins turn attitude to awarding a GBG listing come what may to two local pubs.No need to rush back here.

Decent looking pub well described below. 3 beers on including Doom Bar and Old Golden Hen. Camra discount too. I went for the Golden Hen and sat out front in the sun. Happy to call in again.

This is a nice quaint little pub with low ceilings and a few nooks off the main bar which is at the back on the lower level.Busy.Three cask beers Doombar,Speckled Hen and London Glory.The landlord should be proud of this awesome choice.Not.

This pub is essentially unchanged since the previous reviewer's visit. It's branded as a Spirit pub, which it means it's now Greene King. This is reflected in the ale choice, with GK IPA, London Glory and Old Speckled Hen on, leaving Doom Bar as the only non-Greene King ale available. It was however the cheapest half of Doom Bar that I had had all day, at £1.45. The selection was a bit disappointing as a board outside advertised a 10% CAMRA discount, which I hoped would presage one or two less usually seen ales. They obviously do food, but no menus were out when I was in late afternoon on Friday.
The pub itself is not bad, but it's a typical town centre pub. As you enter there's an area at the front with a bunch of normal tables and chairs; the food counter's still on the left (but not in operation when I visited); and down half a dozen or so steps is an area with a few more normal tables and chairs and tall tables/tall stools and the bar counter. The conservatory is still there on the right, but I couldn't get in there as there was a private function underway. There's a lot of dark wood around the place, including some wood panelling up to dado level that looks ancient, if not original. There are also various knick-knacks around, but mainly old stoneware jugs and bottles on a shelf above the steps leading down to the lower area.
This is the second pub of the day that I saw advertising the impending St Patrick's Day, so I guess we can expect to see all the Guinness tat arriving any day now. There was also a laminated page on all the tables advertising weekly offers and events. It seems you can get four Sharp Shooters for £10; six flavoured shots for £5; and four bombs for £11. All gibberish to me of course, but I mention it just in case anyone is interested in that kind of thing. Also mentioned was a quiz night on Wednesdays, the availability of Sky/BT Sports, and free wi-fi.
For a town centre pub this one's really not bad, but I doubt whether I'll be trekking over to Uxbridge to visit it again.

Situated virtually opposite Uxbridge tube station, The Three Tuns is an attractive looking former coaching inn in the pedestrianised part of the High Street. It's a 350 year old Grade 2 listed building.
An imposing looking Tudor style exterior gives way to a split level interior. The front part has a hot food counter, indicating that, perhaps unusually nowadays, food is served direct as opposed to being cooked to order. Down a few stairs is the bar counter and a low ceilinged bar with a flagstoned floor. It's a fairly standard cut-and-paste pub interior with that generic high street pub chain outlet feel to it ( eg - fruit machines, cheap drink promotional posters ) and nothing of specific note. It's part of the Punch Taverns portfolio.
There's an outside patio at the back, a more welcoming conservatory style courtyard at the side and some seats outside at the front where you can watch the shoppers passing by.
I paid a brief visit to this pub after watching the Middlesex v Sussex county cricket game up the road.
Beers on were Speckled Hen, Adnams Bitter, Marstons Pedigree and Tetley's. The Adnams - £ 2.90p - was reasonable. Worthy of comment is the fact that, during my visit, there seemed to be noticeably more real ale trade than is often the case in a pub of this genre.
I'd describe the pub as a perfectly adequate, but somewhat average bog standard town high street chain pub outlet. However, unless someone can recommend me a better alternative in the vicinity of the station - and I didn't immediately see any other pubs that looked worthy of investigation - a return visit next time I'm here for the cricket is reasonably likely

This is a split level high street pub with the front section housing some seating, a plasma screen and a glass food serving area that was empty during my visit, but after scanning the menu I ascertained that this place does mainly pub grub. Some stairs in the centre of the pub lead down to the bar which is stocked with Pedigree, Tetleys, Adnams and Old Speckled Hen alongside a standard draught range and I was served a decent pint of Guinness by a very camp barman. There is an inglenook in the back wall and a small portable TV up on the wall which, like the plasma at the front of the pub, was showing FA Cup football. I’m not sure that this place has Sky Sports as I believe the match was on terrestrial television and I do not recall seeing any advertisements for Sky.
To the right of the bar area there is a conservatory extension which was baking hot and almost empty during my late Saturday afternoon visit. Also, along with some café style seating on the pedestrianised pavement outside the front of the pub there is also some covered seating at the rear which is located in between a large office block and some housing so it isn’t the most interesting of places.
This place is a handy bolt hole away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, but I wouldn’t make this a destination pub as its location dictates a transient crowd so atmosphere is lacking.
