Ah, the ol' Hare+Hounds... an honest boozer! Traditional old style pub, with a proper bar (counter) split into 2 distinct areas. As you leap over the strange iron fence (surrounding the pub) trying to get in, you enter the main double doors, and it has a sort of 'hotel' entrance kind of feel..! Turn left for the pub &bar area, or right for the separate restaurant/dining area. Interesting! Tonight they had Fullers ESB on pump, and London Pride, and Adnams 'Ghost Ship' (....not much has changed since 2007 then 'Quinno'...!) They also had a German pilsner on tap, "Veltins" which I'd never heard of, but if you like lager or pilsner, it is worth a try (as they don't serve 'Stella' here at present). Convivial enough for me. 3 x TV screens showing the live football game. Barman was serving on his own, but doing a darn good job of it. My friend who lives a stones throw from this hostelry, could not be coerced in here with a barge pole...!! But I quite like the place, it has the feel of a 'proper' old pub, no nonsense. And they serve 'John Smiths' aswell...! Peter Kay would luvvit in here :o) TJ

Nice Fullers pub, three handpulls on the go (ESB, Pride and Chiswick) which tasted very nice with reasonable prices (Pride was £2.60). Outside has a weird bit of Art Deco extension to it, whilst the rest is a classic Victorian building. The inside has had an obvious recent refurb, which, whilst clean and tidy, can't make up it's mind as to whether it's all-out Art Deco dark wood or pine-slabbed gastro. This is occasionally mixes together (as in the dining area) with grating results. There should be only one obvious choice, and it ain't the pine gastro. Worth a visit, it's a tidy pub with tidy beer but has the potential for more.
