This was the only pub I tried in Soham yesterday. It is an old pub situated rather strangely in an area of modern housing. It seems that the pub somehow survived all of the modern developments going on around it.

I seemed to get looked on with suspicion when I arrived. I certainly didn't fit the demographic of this pub, which was all elderly gents, apart from the slightly younger barmaid. I was the youngest in the pub by far.

The bar is in front of you when you arrive, but it stretches back a way, with seating alongside, before it opens up at the rear with an area for playing darts, along with the toilets. Beyond that was another room with a pool table and a garden.

Doom Bar is the regular beer here. Landlord was a guest.

Punters were probably friendly really. They just probably don't get many visitors with it being so tucked away. The lack of reviews on here would seem to add weight to this argument.
