Alesonly . left this review about The Goat

I visited here on a Pub crawl in search of Real Ales between Angel Road & Ponders End. Not too bad for a Pub with old charm but No Real Ale typical G/K Pub. wasn't a bad Pub in the 70s when I lived local even then though it was a Job trying too find a decent Ale pub in Ponders End. I would not bother visiting again now as I would sooner use the Wetherspoons just up the road for a good choice of Ales.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Goat

Imposing Greene King pub on Ponders End High Street with a substantial amount of 'brewer's Tudor' decoration on the facade. Inside, it looks and feels like a pretty good traditional boozer with a busy main bar at the front, extending past a smaller open lounge with more comfortable seating and round the corner to the games area. Only let down by no real ale (so had to resort to IPA Smooth at a reasonable £1.99) and a temporary lack of food (despite adverts for the all-day menu all over the place).
