Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George
First time back to this traditional village pub since it reopened in 2023 after a determined community campaign. No longer the 'work in progress' it was at that time, with the two-room interior (each partly opened out) now fully furnished and decorated, and the side beer garden has some plain wooden benches. Food available daily, and it open on weekday mornings as a café. Four handpumps on the right-hand counter, dispensing Harvey's (of course), Gadds HPA, Goachers Dark (£5.20) and Kentish Pip's Grafter cider on this visit.

Despite living only in the next parish, I hadn’t been in here for years, so I took the opportunity provided by an evening meeting in Ashford to pop in on my way home. A foul March night, the pub was fairly quiet, but the locals welcomed me, and I joined them in reminiscence of local worthies.
The beer range was fairly limited-Adnams Bitter, Brakspears and a couple of others, but my Adnams was in top order. The pub hosts a couple of beer exhibitions, the next being in April. The newish couple in charge previously ran the Woolpack in Warehorne, and similarily high standards are evident here, though we haven’t yet eaten at the George. 7/10
Update August 2023.As Just a quick Pint... says above, The George reopened as a community owned pub in spring 2023,after a succesful fund raising campaign. In addition to the "wet" offering, there is now a cafe service running from 10 in the morning, through to 4.
On my early evening , mid week visit, I found the pub to be pleasantly busy, with most folk enjoying the setting sun in the garden. On the beer front,Harveys was joined by Long Man's Long Blonde and a seasonal beer from Greene King.Keg beers and lager are available, and were selling well.A flier outlined the events to be held-quizzes, music nights, food trucks. A real buzz about the place: one to watch.

Excellent friendly service. With four ales on the hand pump and the best steak and kidney pudding I’ve had in a long time, this is somewhere we shall certainly be coming back to.
