Yesterday, I went to the Ring O'Bells in West Kirby. Entered the Ship Hotel, and they had exactly the same Oktoberfest promotion. Same beers, same menu, same bunting. A little investigation and both pubs are part of the 10 pub Stange and Co company in North Wales/The Wirral.
Its definitely a pub now, rather than a hotel bar with the previous 13 year old reviews. A high end Gastro pub, with wine glasses on the tables, as well as cutlery.
What else has changed? The building to the left of the pub has had a sun deck installed, so it is now two story. Apparently fine views to the North Wales mountains.
We sat outside at a tidy patio.
Beer-wise, forsaking the Teutonic super-brews, there were 4-5 cask ales on. I chose a Brightside Brewing Company Grafter Best Bitter on cask. Thankfully, it was in perfect condition.

Has reduced its prices a bit. Which is nice.

A hotel bar. Recently refurbished and not for the better to be honest. Nice place to have a pint outside in summer. Real ales for Camra bores. Expensive too.
