Brainy Pool left this review about Bull & Dog

Extraordinarily bland pub outside Lea Green station, knocked into a vast open space consisting mostly of dining tables. This kind of pub just feels soulless without the separation it was designed for. Despite the signage, real ale has also gone, with only a dreary selection of keg. On the plus side it was a warm place to wait for my bus to St Helens, and food is apparently excellent and home cooked, so let’s look on the bright side.

Situated right outside Lea Green train station this is a 2 roomed pub. The public bar is to the right and houses a pool table. The main lounge area is entered via the left. This is a large open plan room with 2 offshoot areas to the right of the servery. There are 3 handpumps on the bar that dispensed Doom Bore, Tim Taylor Boltmaker and Black Sheep Holy Grail on my visit. Food is available if you are that way inclined.
