Strongers . left this review about Roscoe Head

The Roscoe Head is a small pub that feels a lot like a house with two seating areas up the right, both with fireplaces and the rear one being slightly larger than the front. The bar is found on the left wall where it serves a snug to the front left where a beer shelf runs under the front window and the foyer to the right that is standing room only. The three hand pumps on the bar in the snug were drawing Big Hand Brewing’s Palewulf, Fixed Wheel Brewery’s The Cricket and Colbier Beer Co’s Presto Stout while the four hand pumps on the foyer counter were drawing TT Landlord, Fyne Ales’ Jarl, Tetleys and Thistly Cross cider. Premium keg products and Carlsberg were also available, but alas the pie display case on the bar was empty. The barman was very friendly and I enjoyed my visit to this beer and conversation pub.

A lovely and famous pub that didn't disappoint, quite small and extremely busy as you would expect but this only added to the buzz about the place. Six handpulls offering up Fyne Ales Jarl, Oakham Nectaron, Salopian Chameleon, Coach House Gunpowder, Tetleys Bitter and Timothy Taylor Landlord. A classic pub.

With last orders at Midnight, we had time for a swift half in the Roscoe Head on our midweek visit to Liverpool. This is still one of my favourite Liverpool pubs and has a great traditional feel to it. You enter into the main bar area, with doors off to a tiny snug on the left, a larger room on the right and a similar sized room at the rear. With all tables taken, we stood in the bar area.

The real ale range here is always good, without being excellent. Tetley's Cask & Timothy Taylor Landlord are the regular beers. Guests were Salopian Mellon Dream, Timothy Taylor Dark Mild, Durham Shindig & Strawberry Fields Eleanor. Weston's Old Rosie cider is generally available.

Known for having appeared in every edition of the Good Beer Guide and recently having been saved from the clutches of NewRiver, this is still a pub that is well worth supporting. It is certainly a remnant of times gone by that deserves supporting.

this remains the best pub in the city in my opinion and one of the best in the country. An unreconstructed gem, friendly and always buzzing with convivial conversation. the tiny TV in the bar is still only used for checking the footy scores on Teletext! Tetleys Bitter and Landlord seem to be permanent fixtures on the bar with four changing guests. still has the three lovely rooms off the main bar. I have total faith in the city of Liverpool to protect this gem from the developers at all costs.

Took a while to reopen after the lockdown. the road has been closed off and assigned as a beer garden which is the only change to this wonderful pub, thank god. Still the same old friendly welcome and excellent ale. Carol the owner is another dispute with the pubco though. Still the best proper pub in Liverpool, it simply has to be preserved.

Called into this friendly 2019 Good Beer Guide pub and chose Nailmaker Wentworth IPA which was fine. Tetley bitter available and Salopian Time Machine. Popular multi-roomed pub.

Was pleased to include this on a recent Liverpool crawl. Six hand pulls at the bar with a chalk board listing the available beers. This is a multi roomed pub and the only one we went in all night where we didn't manage to get a seat at all. I had the Ernie's Milk Stout (Settle Brewery) and my drinking accomplice had the Fault Line (Salopian) and both were very good beers. This is a pub I would be very happy to return to.

My first visit for many years. I was the first customer Saturday lunch before noon. My pint of Dark Side of the Moose was in perfect condition. I could see that this cosy heritage pub was very well maintained.
I thought the campaign a year or two ago had saved the pub but I was sad to hear that it is under a constant threat from developers. Losing this place would be a total disaster.

Alongside the usual TT Landlord and Tetley Bitter, Salopian Oracle, Peerless Brewery Langton Spin, Tweed Black Shire Stout and Faith Hope and Charity from the Rock the Boat Brewery were available on the other four.
We bagged a table in the back room and went through the four guests, all of which were in excellent nick.
Totally agree, the Roscoe Head is a Liverpool gem that is sadly under threat from Development. The people of Liverpool will be all the poorer if they lose this one to another student accommodation block.

Simply had to come, when in Liverpool.

Back Street boozer with very friendly clientele. Instantly engaged in conversation and it was a struggle to get away. Even with four missed calls from the Mrs.

Landlord chosen from the beer board. In good nick.

Would love to come back.
