Strongers . left this review about Old Post Office

The Old Post Office is a small Craft Union pub with a central serving counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside two hand pumps. One was drawing Hobgoblin and the other was being used as a blue roll holder… I think Blue Roll Holder would be a great name for an ale, there could be a picture of a blue roll on the pump clip. Seating runs up the right-hand wall that is covered with a large map of Liverpool and more seating is found down a few steps to the left. Televisions throughout were airing muted Premier League football via TNT Sports and there was some 90s club music playing in the background for the benefit of the polite young barman rather than the old bloke clientele. There’s another seating area past the toilets, but I didn’t investigate because I was preoccupied with trying not to drown under the water coming out of the leaking pipes. I don’t plan on returning.

ROB Camra left this review about Old Post Office

I popped in here as I'd never been in before and as Ms CAMRA wasn't with me I didn't feel the need to have researched it in advance. It's a nondescript two roomed pub which was pretty quiet on my late, Sunday evening visit. The welcome wasn't exactly friendly and when I only asked for a half it got frostier. There was a real ale on handpump, but it was so unmemorable I can't remember what it was, although it was drinkable. Just a couple of old boys in and no atmosphere, so I drank up quickly and left. Can't see me ever visiting again.

bit of a strange one though a traditional kind of pub next to the Liverpool One. inside it's okay although a bit dreary. most of the clientele were 50+ as Al suggests and some were a bit rough and ready though harmless enough. the vast majority of people seemed to be eating food from the cheap menu (is it in a chain?). no real ale today though you may get lucky and get a Doom Bar. for the first time in years I went for a half of John Smiths smooth crap which was a poor drink. in fact I forgot how bad this stuff is and I may as well have chucked £1.50 in the Mersey to be honest.

Al Bundy left this review about Old Post Office

Situated down a back street by Bluecoat Chambers this is a popular 2 roomed pub. The main room is L-shaped with a small room to the left of the bar. It can get a bit cramped at times and is popular with 50+ age group. There is/was a bloke who used to drink in here that looked very much like Rod Hull. Its another pub that I usually overlook but its ok. Not really a place for real ale only drinkers. But if you're around you may as well pop in if you've never been before.

Old Boots left this review about Old Post Office

Busy single room pub on two levels between Hanover St and Liverpool One. Two, sadly unused, handpumps and a conventional selection of kegs. Décor is traditional brown pub with nice enough repro fittings. There are the inevitable large screen TVs and old local pictures with some framed money of all nations. The customers are a mixed bunch but tend towards lively middle aged men.
