Strongers . left this review about The Liverpool

The Liverpool is a wooden floored rectangular single room pub with a serving counter that is edged by floor tiles on the rear wall. Tables and chairs in the centre of the pub are faced by banquettes that run under the front windows and up the left-hand wall to a stage centrally located on the left wall. High tables are found in the left rear corner and some high banquettes and tables have been shoehorned into the right-hand corner opposite the entrance. During a recent Monday afternoon visit the televisions throughout were airing muted England test match cricket while some 1980s background music played. The service was friendly, but this place must struggle for trade being located directly opposite a Wetherspoons, which is maybe why they don’t bother serving cask.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Liverpool

has now been refurbished and the crap signage has gone, which is a good start. Once inside though it hasn’t changed much as far as I can tell, besides being shinier and fresher. Still a rubbish pub with no real ale and an atmosphere that I just don’t like. Loud music and even louder clientele on a Saturday morning. In an area of the city seemingly immune to good pubs, this is a particularly poor one.

ROB Camra left this review about The Liverpool

A medium sized one roomed pub that looks better from the outside. There's a small stage to the left and all the tables to the left of the bar were set up for dining. There's a few nautical things around the walls including several model ships. It was quite busy on our Monday afternoon visit with an older clientele. There's no real ale here and my Guinness Dublin Porter was served so cold that I couldn't tell if it would have tasted of anything at all if served a bit warmer. We got off the train at James Street and popped in here for one, we'll walk past next time.

Al Bundy left this review about The Liverpool

Quite a nice pub that can be busy, especially if there's something going on at the waterfront. A single room with a very small stage and dancefloor in the corner to your left. Lots of pictures of HMS Liverpool dotted around and a large 5 or 6 foot model of said ship above the bar. The best of the 3 pubs close by. Does food if you want it.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Liverpool

Next door to James Street underground, so gets some passing trade and also has a few elderly regulars early doors. This is a square one-roomed pub and has a quite a bland interior apart from a few prints of HMS Liverpool, the pub being named after her. Lots of keg, no real ale.
