Old Boots left this review about Cornmarket Hotel
Large, long, thinnish Victorian style pub in Liverpool’s commercial district, decorated in high 1890s style with lots of dark wood, cut glass, and small open booths with bench seating. The walls are treated in more 1990s style with a tobacco coloured ragrolled finish complete with mottos which is rather dated these days. There are two handpumps, clips for Black Sheep Bitter and Jennings Cumberland were reversed on this occasion although on previous visits the ale has been well kept, the pub used to be in the GBG some years ago. The keg offering offers no surprises except Tetleys Dark Mild which was a reasonable alternative to the lack of cask ale. Toilets are doorstairs in a basement and there is an upper floor which I have never explored. An organisation called the Ocean Nestorium Association appears to meet here regularly.
