Steve C left this review about Waggon & Horses

The Waggon & Horses is a Holts pub with a large open plan carpeted area to the right where banquettes run under the front windows and up the right-hand wall. In the centre of this space are some small round tables with stools. Green and white tiled flooring runs around the L-shaped bar counter found off centre to the left. Further left is another carpeted seating area with banquettes At the rear is a room that houses a pool table and dartboard. Sky Sports is advertised, but during a recent Tuesday late afternoon visit these were all off in favour of some 1970s background music. The service was friendly and the three hand pumps were drawing Bitter and Mild. This place is above average in an area with slim pickings.

A nice Holts pub. 4 handpumps on the bar but all but one with Holts Bitter on, the other being Holts Mild. Multi-roomed and friendly staff. A pool room to the rear.

A smart, multi roomed Holts's pub that looks like it's been recently refurbished. 3 large TVs, one of which was on and showing horse racing. There's a pool table, a dartboard and a jukebox. There are 3 handpumps on the bar and as there were posters all over the pub advertising Holts Hat Trick as a new beer I asked for one. It wasn't on! Even though the pump clip hadn't been turned around. I ended up just having a half of Holts Bitter which was a very reasonable £1.17 and in decent nick. It's a decent pub, but obviously the management need to step up a bit.

The Waggon and Horses is a decent looking pub that is situated towards the top eastern end of hyde road, the pub has got a mock tudor upper half which looks a but strange in this part of Manchester.
Once inside the pub was quite nice with a few different rooms,i had a drink in a smart and comfortable lounge which i would have liked to stay in longer if not on a pub crawl.
The pub is a Joseph Holt tied house and there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Holts bitter and this was a really nice drink i then tried a drink of Holts mild which was also a really nice drink.
I quite liked this pub.
