A small one roomed pub that seems to have an Irish bent to it. Friendly enough of an early afternoon. There's no real ale but its clean enough. Like the reviewer below its unlikely I'll be bothering with here again.

Open again, but may not be for long on this showing. There's some out of place comfy sofa's at the front of the pub. A pool table against the wall towards the rear and there's also a quiz machine. I called in on my way back to the station at about 7:30 on a Friday. Most of the people in here appeared to have been on the beer for most of the day. There's no real ale in here, so I had a half of something fizzy. The locals seem friendly enough though as a couple of them moved over to allow me to get to the bar. I doubt that I'll ever visit again though.

In years gone by, it used to be called the Railway, due to it's proximity to the Liverpool-Manchester line.

This nice old pub gets its name not surprisingly for being at the top of the hill that is Church Street.
