The Royal Oak is a Marston’s pub with a U-shaped bar that supports seven handpumps, two of which were unused and one was off. This left Wainwright and Pedigree available alongside Bank’s Amber and Sunbeam. A standard keg range is also available. The bar on the right wall faces seating up the left and there is a seating room to the right of the entrance. To the left is more seating and a fireplace. Televisions are located throughout for airing Sky Sports, some EFL football was playing during my midweek evening visit. The service was polite and I left thinking that this was a decent local’s boozer.

Traditional Marstons Pub, that I wasn't necessarily expecting in South Manchester.
Lovely old school feel inside, with rooms eminating from a central curved bar. Some outside seating on the main road.
Usual Marstons beers. Boondoggle OK.

This is a very neat Marstons pub. There's a separate room to the right and several other areas around the bar. There's a nice fireplace in one of the areas and a TV in every area along with a jukebox. A chatty barman and a middle aged clientele add to the attractions. It was fairly busy on my Friday, late afternoon visit. There are 8 handpumps and the beers are all from the extended Marstons stable, despite WhatPub claiming that they have guest beers. My pint was in good nick and I enjoyed my time here, it's a good pub.

A really good traditional pub. A Marston's affair with Marston's beers to the fore. Multi roomed and each in good old pub style. There are, however, guest ales available. 6 handpumps and all working on this visit. After visiting a few cafe bar shite nearby this was a welcome relief. I liked it.

The Royal Oak is a bare brick built corner pub that is in the main shopping area of didsbury.
Once inside the pub had a couple of rooms that i noticed and i had a drink in the bar which was a decent room but very busy on my Saturday dinner visit.
This pub is a Marstons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Pedigree and this was a decent drink the other beer was Marstons bitter.
This was a decent down to earth pub.
