The Cotton Tree has seating with a dartboard in the front left and an L-shaped serving counter mid-way up the left-hand wall to a pool room at the rear where some local lads were playing on a recent Tuesday evening visit. To the right of the entrance is a carpeted banquette seating area with another dartboard and in the right rear is yet another room with seating and a dartboard, I reckon they’re a bit darts crazy in here. On the right-hand wall was a DJ rig with an old boy on the decks, he was loving it but I was less keen. Sky Sports is advertised. This is a JW Lees pub so premium and their own keg were available and one of the two hand pumps was in use drawing Bitter. A solid local, but I’m not sure the short walk north of Middleton is worth it for out-of-towners like myself.
