Strongers . left this review about The Prince Alfred
This is a small L-shaped backstreet boozer that had about ten locals in attendance during my visit at 13:00 last Sunday afternoon. The majority were Irish men of the older generation and I was very impressed with the state a couple of them were in as the pub had only been open for an hour. I found the landlady to be a little dismissive and the Guinness wasn’t at its best, maybe I had the first of the day as everyone else seemed to be drinking Fosters. There is only a standard draught selection and I didn’t see any advertisements for food, but there was an empty glass display case and food serving area at the end of the bar. Sky Sports, ESPN, GAA etc are all shown on the TV and there is a jukebox that was playing some Elvis to the delight of the vocal patrons.
I’ve been in friendlier pubs and I don’t plan to visit here again as there are far better pubs a stones throw away.
