The Florin is a decent sized stand alone pub situated on the busy Holloway Road.
Once inside there is a square shaped room with the bar facing, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating in bays to the front, there is a pool table in the middle of the room, there are normal tables and chairs elsewhere.
A large screen to the right was showing the rugby and a TV above the bar was showing horse racing.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Smooth Crap, which was crap.
The pub was fairly busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I thought this was a decent enough pub, just a shame there was not a real ale on the bar.

Big old Irish boozer with pool table Sky sports and big big keg fonts. The picture of this pub make you think they have a carpark outside or you have to climb over cars to get in but its not the case.

This good sized single room Irish boozer doesn’t look the most welcoming from the outside, but I’m glad that I took a deep breath and walked in as, although not the sort of place one would take the missus, I found the landlady to be very pleasant and the rag tail band of old boys at the bar were harmless enough. There are a couple of plasma screens that were showing a premiership match on Sky and I spotted a jukebox in the corner which I’d imagine being used when there is no sport and no band set up on the small stage area. There is a dartboard on the wall behind the stage and I spotted a list of upcoming horse racing events on the toilet door so I’d imagine a few screwed up betting slips can be found on the bar during the day.
The furniture is old and the upholstery has seen better days, but I’m a fan of these Irish pubs where the air is blue and I would pop in again if passing.
