Visited on a Wednesday afternoon before it gets rammed and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere as I drank Neame's Masterbrew which was excellent and also Whitstable Bay. 3 of 4 pumps in use. Staff was nice and accommodating. Great pub atmosphere.

Another pub I remember from years ago, and hasn't changed much. Shep Neame beers and good service. Good pub.

A first in here the other night and what a treat: the Shepherd Neame fascia boards have been removed to reveal three levels of lovely green and gold glazed Truman's tiles. Otherwise, this pub is in a rather ho-hum Whitechapel/Aldgate backwater just to the north-east of the Tower of London that warrants little in the way of exploration, being home to offices that can't really afford the rents charged in the City.
I didn't have high expectations for this place but was very pleasantly surprised indeed. The front bar is very traditional with a fine bar, pot shelf, bar back and boarded floor with friendly barmen. It was let down slightly by a few office workers indulging in some rather industrial language.
The rear bar is carpeted and has traditional/conventional furniture. The half panelled walls are painted burgundy and are decorated with historic prints and the like. There's a fireplace which hopefully is used, surrounded by horse brasses which perhaps could go on the fire once lit.
Beyond, it's just a few steps down to an attractive beer garden. The rear bar was home to groups of cheery and mixed people: some studenty types, South East Asian tourists to name just some. Music played over the jukebox and it was perhaps a little loud but not intrusively so; TVs were refreshingly absent.
Ales: Master Brew, Spitfire and Samuel Adams at a painful £4.60 a pint but very nice indeed.
This is a very decent pub and one to which we will certainly return if in the area. Two points deducted due to the high prices (this is the East End for God's sake) and customers' language.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Princess Of Prussia
Quite an attractive Shepherd Neame pub, but looking somewhat squashed between the taller adjacent buildings. Features a narrow rectangular bar, with further seating in another room beyond. Very traditional furniture and decor, and partly wood panelled. Four handpumps on the counter, offering Master Brew, Spitfire, Whitstable Bay and Late Red (£4.10).

Reasonable Shephards Pub with a nice enough beer garden to the rear. The ale is not as good as it could be, though it is clean and tidy, just lacking customers during my visit.

Lovely pub, nice food. Its the kind of bar that you like to be a regular in. Close to the city, yet still a bit East london..I like this bar very much.

A Pub on the down. Looks great, like all Shep's pubs, but it is suffering under (I believe) I new owner who seems to think he can charge over the odds just because he's near the City.

This is a narrow-fronted pub that goes back a fair way. It's a Shepherd Neame pub so expect the usual range of ales. There is a largish back room that seems to be used as a dining room, with a bar area to the front of the pub. I didn't eat here, but the grub other punters were tucking into looked OK. It's a fairly decent pub, with nondescript décor, although the music was a bit louder than I would have liked. As the bar area has a boarded floor that made it noisier than if it had been carpeted. But that's only nitpicking – this is still a pretty good pub and I would certainly visit again.
