Bucking Fastard left this review about The George IV @ Regency Hotel
The hotel above has now been converted to flats ,which have also consumed the left side of the ground floor leaving a small entrance door to the right of the building.A short corridor and single trap loo gives way to a plain interior with the bar to the left, opposite is a long banquette before some small tables then a pool table before a small sung area overlooking a rear widow. The flatscreen is for terrestrial services and was set to GB News thankfully on mute.Entertainment every other Saturday,it wont take many punters to feel busy but it was quiet on my visit.
No real ale ,keg pints from £4.30 from a multinational keg list,my half of Stella was £2.50,double up you spirits for £2.50 too.Thankfully card was accepted ,it's another white working class boozer, not unfriendly but all a bit dull so no need for a revisit.Glad I got here before Strongers !

This is a former Watney’s house, dating from at least the mid-19th century, located just 50m from the real-life St. Frideswide’s, renamed St. Nonnatus House in Call the Midwife.
This is now a rather unprepossessing location, just off East India Dock Road, home to a myriad phone and money-change concessions/cheap booze/fried chicken/kebab outlets. Supposedly now a bar to a hotel above, I’ve rarely seen such a foreboding pub exterior: shabby, virtually no illumination, grotty net curtains and a blue and red LED sign above the door glowing ‘OPEN’ - despite the lack of any obvious activity - the type of thing you’d see on a kebab shop or late-night convenience store (see photo).
My gut instinct told me that venturing beyond the pavement wasn’t to my benefit and the at-least two Range Rovers outside didn’t inspire confidence, so I was on my way: over to you, Strongers.
