Dating from the mid-19th century, this was originally the Devonshire Arms. It was rebuilt post war, probably during the area’s redevelopment in the early ‘60s. I visited once in the summer of ’94; it had a ‘Double Diamond’ logo to the parapet, which can be seen in the first photo.
I recall it was a bit of a glum place, with mainly backpackers and tourists as customers, situated on the less than appealing Notting Hill Gate. It became a style bar around 2002 and an estate agent in 2009.
