Another one nearly 9 years on since the last review, surprise, surprise by Alan. In truth very little has changed here since the time of Alan’s visit, ok maybe the carpet looks like it has been refreshed. the pool table still here and busy next door to the neglected dartboard. The pull down projector screen has gone replaced by a couple of typically head height TV in the end away from the pool table. Small birthday celebration ongoing during my brief mid evening visit, demographic still as Alan saw all those years ago - probably a good chance of a few of the punters in tonight were here when Alan was here!
Quaffs as you could pretty much predict. No cask obviously. Keg choices were Stella, Fosters, a couple of Blackthorn ciders, John Smiths, 1664, Madri, Camden Pale Ale, Guinness and possibly a couple of others that I couldn’t spy through the birthday party at the bar. Don’t think I would have missed much.
Imagine this pub is a valuable community asset and it is great it continues to survive. No surprise to have the evening horse racing on one of the TV’s. Not too many of these venues left in this part of the world.

The Greyhound is a pretty grim looking pub that is situated at the end of a shopping parade which serves the estate.
Once inside the room is oblong shaped with the bar facing, the room is carpeted but this is very worn, the seating bench type and normal tables and chairs, there is a pool table and darts board to the left and a DJ rig to the front left, there was also a large drop down screen to the left which was not in use.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Tetley smooth which was a pretty poor drink.
Decent background music was playing, the pub was fairly busy with older drinkers.
It is nice to see pubs like this still up and running.
