Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Duke Of Wellington
Old-school ex-Courage corner boozer with a bold façade, sadly due to close in a couple of weeks (as I was advised when I found most of the stock run down when I called in when passing). Retains a staple-shaped bar with plain furniture and decor, with just a pool table and large TV to note, but all clean and tidy. Only a few regulars in, but the landlady was friendly enough (if understandably sad). No real ale on; indeed no bitter left of any sort, so had a quick Guinness (£1.75, half). Shame to see any old pub go, especially a local like this.

A fairly standard locals' boozer with a friendly enough barman.
Locals' pubs aren't really my thing, but this is above average for the type.

This is an ordinary backstreet boozer. There’s a dartboard, a pool table, a one-armed bandit, a games machine, a TV showing the news, a carpeted floor, some standard issue tables and chairs, as well as a couple of potted plants. All OK so far, and just the sort of pub I like. There were two handpumps on the bar and both were unused. This could be a great little pub – if only they did a decent ale (or two).

There are two hand pumps in this locals boozer, but they were both unused during my visit leaving just a standard draught selection. There is a pool table and a dartboard as well as a plasma screen for showing Sky Sports.
The barman was nice enough, but a woman who seemed to be the landlady was quite miserable and I didn't feel at all welcome so I won't be returning.
