UPDATE:
Pleasingly, little change two years almost to the day from my previous visit. Doom Bar and London Pride remained, joined by Morland Old Speckled Hen (£3.00 a pint I learned after ordering what turned out to be a cracking pint of Pride). Quiz nights, Bingo nights, a meat raffle, pub grub specials, old photos of the pub's interior and exterior, along with muted 50s and 60s muzak and a busyness at 4pm on a Friday means something's definitely being done right here. No world-beater, but continues to be a solid boozer with friendly service, so retains its 7 rating.

25th January 2017
A homely boozer situated on a double mini-roundabout as you enter Iver Heath from the M25. A squat L-shape internally, the bar is positioned in a right-angle accordingly and a non-functional door to the left suggests this may have been a two-roomer in a former incarnation. A low-beamed ceiling, soft carpet, soft-upholstered banquettes and old school landlady, who moved at her own pace according to her years, but still had the grace to ask me how I was were further mental ticks. Onto the beer: the seemingly unimaginative three-ale line-up comprised Sharp's Doom Bar, Fuller's London Pride and Adnam's Ghost Ship. I plumped for a pint of the latter (£3.60) and was rewarded with the best example of that beer I've ever tasted, so top marks to the cellarmanship here. This was busy on a Thursday night with a mix of young and old, so something's obviously working here.
