It’s pretty much as Komokino says below – a large, impressive (1930s?) hotel building that looks a bit like a military mess from the outside, but has all the charm of a NAAFI canteen inside. There is a tiny bar counter still with no real ale, the staff were nowhere to be seen, the outside is strewn with litter and the customers are rowdy and objectionable in equal measure. I concur with the recommendation to avoid.

Built in 1937 as Wycombe began to creep up the sides of the valley on both sides this has undergone a major transformation over the years and the impressive external size is unmatched internally with nothing more than a small, sterile rectangular room with bare floorboards, a central, open fireplace, three-quarter wooded panels, standard seating, and no real ale. Not worth the bother.
