Bucking Fastard left this review about The Cask & Glass

A charming, small Shepherd Neame house,on a street corner with a good amount of pavement seating outside. The interior is a single carpeted room with a small bar opposite the front door.Elsewhere brown leather fitted benches around the periphery with a drinking shelf .Furniture all very trad, including small stools. The walls are covered with interesting prints, the wood panelling is pleasing, the bulls eye window glass is authentic and the small flatscreen was just advertising Radio 2 but not blaring out music.
The barmaid was friendly and efficient and thankfully most after work punters stay outside, leaving room inside for convivial chat. The ale offering was SN Spitfire,Little Ships and Whitstable Bay Pale (decent,NBSS 4) with a further pump clip reversed. It's a wet led pub and was a worthy stop on a short crawl of the area.A pub I would be happy to return to given the unexpected ale quality.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cask & Glass

This very cosy little Shepherd Neame pub was my work local for a few years and still has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere at a quiet time, but very different when the nearby offices close (although the service is very efficient, if notoriously surly). Traditional furniture and décor, with a couple of patio tables out front in the better weather. The beer from the four handpumps is always excellent, with Master Brew, Whitstable Bay Pale and Spitfire (£6.25) available on this visit, and a reversed clip for the seasonal One Hop Wonder on the other. Well worth seeking out.

Dating from 1862 as the Duke of Cambridge, the pub’s one-hundredth anniversary was celebrated with the introduction of the current name.
It’s cosy inside, with a rare carpet, some smoky blue paint and framed prints. The landlady here was very friendly, though the place was virtually empty, when all other local pubs were doing a good trade midweek, though there were a few friendly squaddies in, from the local Wellington Barracks in Petty France.
Ales offer comprised Master Brew and Spitfire (both reversed), then Whitstable Bay and seasonal Late Red at £2.75 a half and ok.
I think I’ll leave this one to the locals, civil servants and squaddies.

This small Shep Neame pub sits between the Phoenix and The Colonies and was probably my favourite of the three, although I probably didn’t see it at its best when visiting on a busy after work evening session when it was standing room only both inside and outside on the pavement.
The pleasant small traditional dark wood exterior is carried on inside the small carpeted bar with a traditional wooden bar frontage and full dark wood panelling at both ends of the room.
Master Brew, Spitfire, Whitstable Pale Ales and Samuel Adams Blond Ambition, Sheps seasonal collaboration with the Boston brewer, were on the four pumps.

Small Shepherd Neame pub which was quite pleasant even though it was busy. I managed to get a seat and read my paper whilst enjoying the Spitfire. Would return.

Well described below, this small back street Shepherd and Neame pub has a current GBG entry, well deserved. It was originally the Duke of Cambridge. Staff were a little frosty, clientele were a decent bunch. Three ales on, three from Shepherd and Neame and a guest, Whitstable IPA. I had Spitfire and Spitfire Gold, both in truly excellent condition. A definite for a crawl.

The Cask and Glass is a very small pub Shepherd Neame pub located in the backstreets somewhere in between Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. Available from the bar was the usual SN draught range alongside cask Spitfire, Spitfire Gold, Master Brew and Whitstable Bay. I decided to plump for half a Spitfire (£2.10) and the only thing that the governor said during our transaction was “two ten”. I wouldn’t mind so much if the pub was busy, but I was the only customer during my recent Wednesday afternoon visit.

The décor is what one would expect from any self-respecting London Boozer and there is a small television that was airing the news with low volume. World Cup Rugby, on terrestrial television, was advertised for later in the evening. Outside the front of the pub on a widened path is some café seating. This pub has normal operating times during the week, but on Saturday the doors open at midday and close at 20:00 and on Sunday this pub is closed all day.

This is a pleasant pub; it’s just a shame about the rude service because it was totally unnecessary. Some people love grumpy governors because they think they give an otherwise dull pub a bit of character. I’m not one of these people because I think rude governors are arseholes.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Cask & Glass

We hit this pub at it's peak, still a lot of the customers were drinking outside in the front of the pub. There were four handpumps all of which were Shepherd Neame, we went for the Whitstable Bay, which was good and refreshing.

A wedge-shape Shepherd Neame pub in back streets but handily close for Victoria tube. Enticing exterior adorned with hanging baskets and potted plants. The interior is cosy with well-worn carpet, dark varnished wall panelling, padded banquette seating and an attractive bar canopy. Four Sheps ales on (Spitfire, Masterbrew, Kent Best and a seasonal usually). Beer quality has always been good on my visits. Prices are a high but are least listed at the prominently displayed price list by the bar. Service at the bar is usually friendly. As mentioned elsewhere, this is a small pub so seating is at premium at busy times. In a nod to modern trends there is free wifi available. This is a charming little pub and I’d happily recommend it.

A stone's throw from Westminster Cathedral is this tiny Shepherd Neame boozer, which a group of us decamped to on a saturday lunchtime. Staff were friendly and efficient and a TV was somewhat unneccesarily showing sky 1 in one corner. Pints of Late Red (£3.40) were consumed and I'm sure I'd have liked this place a bit more if I could get on with SN beer, sadly to say I can't (all their beers have a flavourless, watery quality to me). Still, its a lovely old pub in a touristy location, and if you like Shepherd Neame you'll enjoy it here for sure.
