This is no longer a Greene King Pub being acquired by a property developer back in 2018, which doesn't bode well but still functioning as a pub six years on . A rather nice small horseshoe shaped room wrapped around a central bar, traditionally furnished and much nicer than I was expecting despite the cask being a little pedestrian, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Alsops IPA and a turned Sharps Atlantic on the third handle. Despite being in the middle of Fitzrovia the pub had a quite pleasant locals feel about it, taking me off guard. I would have liked some more interesting cask but I quite enjoyed this pub.

A Greene King pub set on a street corner with a comfortable and smart interior. The central bar is well run by some attractive barmaids and the carpeted interior has quite a bit of charm.Bench seating on the right wing leads to a narrow staircase ,but I didn't investigate, while closer to the bar there are high tables.Further to the left feels lounge like, although the flatscreen above the corner door might disturb the peace if the volume is up.Thankfully on mute on my lunchtime visit.
Quite a few handpumps were reversed (noteably TT Landlord),leaving a choice of GK IPA,Old Speckled Hen and St Austell Tribute (on the decline ,too malty).
The pub is wet led and no food is available, shame the ale selection and condition wasn't better .Otherwise I may have considered a revisit.

A nice little pub with leaded windows, a matchboarded bar and a carpeted floor, which is becoming rare in the area. The olive and mid green walls are covered in a selection of framed prints and mirrors, giving quite a pleasant historic effect. Not too sure about the fairy lights strung across the ceiling however. Draught ales were IPA, Old Speckled Hen, Landlord, Tribute and a charity brew.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Duke of York
Attractive Greene King pub with a large illustrated panel above the main corner door and the name emblazoned in large lettering at the top of the facade. 'U'-shaped bar, with traditional furniture and decor but less upmarket than most in area. More seating upstairs (not visited). However, the small front and side patio areas seem to have lost their demarcation. On this visit, I found the brewery's IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Bermuda Joe's plus two from Timothy Taylor - Landlord and the Knowle Spring blonde (£4.40) - on the five handpumps.

I haven't been in here since the late 1980s when a drunken work colleague got us chucked out - and banned - for singing loudly. Now that I'm older than the bar staff, I thought it time for a return visit.
Quite a traditional interior as described below: carpeted, lots of dark wood, stools and rather dated orange-hued sconce lights to the walls. There were two TVs with the sound off and a note on the wall informed us that thieves operate in the area. Beers: GK Abbot, Moreland's Old Speckled Hen, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Salopian Brewery's Darwin's Origin at £2.10 a half.
This is a perfectly decent place, off the tourist route and is worth a return visit for a quiet drink.
Closed Sunday.

Small backstreet Greene King pub, notable for having a pub sign featuring a living member of the royal family (is this the only one in Britain?). Horseshoe-shaped interior, carpet, dark wood, leaded windows, military prints. Rammed well before 5pm and was a struggle to get served, especially as one of the office numbnuts’ American Express cards was declined. Surprisingly large amount of ales (five) with the GK staples (IPA, OSH, Abbot) plus two guests, Black Hole Cosmic II and Nottingham Pale. The Notts Pale was in good form and didn’t taste of old GK in the line either. Maybe a little hard to judge as it was difficult to fully appreciate the pub but it was a decent 10 minute stop. I’ll err on the side of generosity due to the beer quality and choice.

A smallish traditional style Greene King pub tucked away in the heart of Fitzrovia but just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Oxford Street.
The carpeted single room has paneled windows, a central horseshoe bar and limited seating around the edges. There are several military themed pictures, wartime newspaper cuttings and theatre posters on display and various odds and sods atop the unusual optics/glass rack behind the bar.
The Greene King beers won’t satisfy everyone but the choices were better than I am used to with 3 of the core ales, IPA (with the North & South pull contraption), Abbott and Old Speckled Hen plus 2 seasonal offerings Gangly Ghoul and Howell At The Moon. At £3.30 for the last named, prices are pretty decent for Central London, quality was fine and service friendly and effiecient.
The pub dioes get pretty busy, especially during the after work shift when tables are at a premium although there is usually a bubbly and friendly enough atmosphere. It may not have the Bohemian feel that once prevailed in the area but it does retain a fair amount of character and with the more adventurous selection of ales, this is one of Greene King’s better pubs around and makes a decent stop on a crawl.

This is a small one-room pub with a comfortable feel about it. The only problem was that the tables on the right as you walk in were reserved for a private party, and the only other two tables were occupied - so nowhere comfortable to sit, and thus ended up perched on a stool. This was one of those things of course, and would certainly not put me off returning. The real ales they had on were Old Speckled Hen; GKIPA; Abbot Ale; and Flanker's Tackle. So, a Greene King pub then. The service was friendly and beer OK (OSH at £3 a pint) so no complaints from me. No food at lunchtime, but I would be happy to pop in again for a pint.
