Formerly The Village Hall, this has, unsurprisingly, a village hall appearance from out front and the entrance-facing wide, light boards give possible credence to a former life. Accessed up a step or two and through benches on decking which overlooks a triangular green, this has two distinct areas: a dining area to the left of the entrance-facing square bar and an L-shaped area in front of and to the right. Bar a high table with seats of similar stature, seating is around the periphery including an alcove-type area in the bottom corner of the room. The colour scheme is a mixture of pastels and funky music which was on the slightly too-loud side but was actually a good fit on this occasion, although the ale selection left a little something to be desired, with Sharp's Doom Bar, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Wadworth 6X forming a slightly richer man's trio of doom (c.f. Aqualung). The be-aproned staff served me a can each of Flying Dog Snake Dog and Wild Beer Pale Ale, which were £4.15 each and good alternatives, but this is one for the beautiful people, so I think I'll leave them to it.
