Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Nick
Attractive Hall & Woodhouse pub, extended at some stage into the adjoining building and retaining almost separate bars on each side of the central servery. The interior is semi-traditionally furnished and benefits from having large windows on two sides (albeit one edge facing the covered alleyway) and interesting prints, etc. as decoration. Fursty Ferret and Pickled Partridge (£4.95, but in very good shape) available from the bank of four handpumps on each counter.

Formerly The Three Cups, I haven't been in here for 12 years and no changes seem apparent - this was a big hangout for students at the former Inns of Court School of Law, so could get very full on a Friday night.
The interior's fairly traditional with Victorian colours, bare boards with some mosaic tilework, textured wallpaper, t 'n' g dark wood panelling and Victorian-style chandeliers. There's a drinking shelf and bar stools to the windows. There was a TV showing sport, but fortunately the sound was off.
The barmaid was friendly and on offer were Hall & Woodhouse's Badger, Tangle Foot, Dive and First Call at £3.65 a pint. This is cheap for the area, but I'd forgotten that I don't like H & W beers.
This is quite a nice pub off the beaten track, but the beer choice is unlikely to lure me back.
Closed Saturday and Sunday.

On my recent visit here there were three ales from Badgers available along with HB and HB Export and my Guinness was on good form and served by a friendly barmaid. The pub is of a decent size and still maintains a cosy atmosphere due to its layout. I spotted one plasma screen which was showing muted BBC News and there was a quiz going on in the back that didn't seem to have many participants.
This place is ok for a quiet pint, but I wouldn't stay all night.
