Alan Winfield left this review about Whistle Stop
The Whistle Stop is a stand alone pub that is situated next to the level crossings and East Coast main line.
Once inside the pub had a single room with the bar facing, the left side was bare boarded and had a pool table on a raised area to the rear, the right side was carpeted, the seating was the same on either side being comfy bench seating and small stools and chairs, the ceiling was beamed and there was a TV to the right which was showing music videos.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of London Pride which was a decent drink, the other beer was Bombardier.
There were a few picnic tables to the front,so if you like train spotting and drinking this is the ideal place to do it,if you can see them bombing past at 100 mph.
This was a pleasant enough pub that i was quite happy having a drink in.
