This is a detached Bateman's pub, with caravan park and patio area. The pub is a cottage type with lower side extension. It looks neat, but perhaps a little uninspired, being all in white, with some black beam - with a front gable to add a little something. The interior has a nice little traditional L-shaped bar room, with a pool table and dart board one end. The decor has coffee and wood panel walls, with blue carpet and a white and beam ceiling. There are a couple of brick fires, one either end and they seem to do food, although we didn't eat so can't comment on that(and the side dining room was in darkness). The place has lots of model ships, ship and general memorabilia dotted about, as well as brasses. The walls had mirrors. There was a TV, but it wasn't on and music came from the radio gently in the background. The service was great and there were a few locals in. Beer; usual stuff with XB, XXXB and a cracking Dark MILD on handpull. A really good all round pub. Even the Soupettes wrot on my notepad - 'good pub'!
